Summit Learning

Many Mercury and Gemini schools have expressed the desire to pilot Summit Learning this spring to see if it might be a good fit for part of their redesign plan.  Summit Learning will provide training to interested districts on January 25 and February 20.

The Summit Learning system is currently built for grades 4 – 12 with content for ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Foreign Languages.  Attending a Summit Learning meeting will in no way obligate you to proceed with a relationship with them, but you may be surprised at how willing they are to customize their current system just for Kansas Redesign.

The topics covered in the January 25th training will include:

  • Developing a vision for personalized learning in your community
  • Alignment between Kansans Can Vision and Summit Learning approach
  • History and philosophy of the Summit Learning model, including evidence and results
  • A deeper look at the personalized learning platform from a teacher and student view

The topics covered in the February 20th training will include:

  • Condition setting that can be done in advance of Summit Learning Summer Training
  • Best practices for implementation
  • Support with completing the Summit Learning application that is due on Monday, March 5

A sit-down lunch lunch will be provided at a cost of $15.00 per person.  You may pay by cash, check or purchase order made payable to KSDE and mailed to the following address:
