Baking Builds FCS STEAM Institute
Field to table, Kansas is an ideal place to gain baking ingredient STEAM resources and classroom methods. This two-day institute will provide hands-on baking and resources to be able to teach competencies related to foods, nutrition, baking, food safety and culinary arts. Dozens of activities, timesaving techniques, ingredient knowledge, lesson aides, and labs will be provided for the secondary-level FCS classroom. Two lunches are embedded in the institute training as well as two industry tours. This event is underwritten by the Home Baking Association (www.homebaking.org).
NOTE: If space allows, a limited number of middle-level teachers may attend. Classroom resource binders and flash drives are not released until after 3:30pm on June 2, 2017.
