There is no cost to participate in this STEM Education Event. Morning beverages, lunch, and afternoon beverages will be provided. The cost of parking in the KU parking garage next to the Student Union will be covered by the sponsors.
The Event will begin at 8:00 a.m. on August 14 (on-site check-in will open at 7:15 a.m.) and Governor Kelly has been invited to deliver the Keynote Address at Noon. Business casual attire please.
NASA staff presenting will include:
John Weis - NASA Educator Professional Development Collaborative - specializing in engineering and physical sciences at all grade levels
Steven Smith - NASA Educator Professional Development Collaborative - specializing in Culturally Relevant Pedagogy and Biological Sciences
The presentations will include, but not be limited to, covering engineering concepts at all grade levels with an emphasis on incorporating engineering into the science curriculum, NASA classroom resources and how to access them, and, possibly, simple robotics activities.
Information will also be provided on opportunities for STEM teachers to participate mentorship programs.
